To our volunteers
To our volunteers: without you we simply would be unable to meet our mission and provide for those without a voice. Since our animals do not have a voice, allow us to speak on their behalf and say "thank you for helping us when there was nobody else there. Our lives are a little sweeter because of you."
Interested in volunteering?
Are you interested in giving of your time to help? If so, here are some important things to know:
- Volunteers must be at least aged 16 years, or be accompanied by their caregiver
- Wear old clothes, you will likely get dirty.
- Volunteers are welcome any time during operating hours, and may stay as little or as long as they wish. We do however reserve the right to suggest other times if we already have volunteers working.
- Volunteers are required to complete an application and have some basic training prior to volunteering in the shelter
- If you are unsure of something, or do not know the answer to someone's question, please ask a staff member
- Please pay attention to cage signs as they are there for both your, and the animal's safety
What might I do as a volunteer?
There are many ways in which you can help! Here are just a few:
- Socialize the cats
Socialize and walk the dogs.- Clean cages
- General cleaning and maintenance
- Bath, feed and care for animals
- Help with laundry
- Organize supplies
- Assist with adoption counseling
- And more!
