Can anyone adopt a pet?
Well.. yes, and no. We do not discriminate potential adopters due to their race, class, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, size of their house, color of their hair, or any other such factors. However, we are very selective about the homes to which we send our animals. After all, we are seeking "Forever Homes"!
First, we only adopt to those aged 21 years or more. Second, there is an extensive application process where we confirm your history regarding any current or previous pets, as well as your ability to keep and support any animals you adopt from us. Third, we have a pretty good handle on the disposition and temperament of our animals and factor in your requested animal's ability to cope within your living situation.
So, anyone can certainly complete an application, but we reserve the right to refuse any adoptions!
What is the adoption process?
The application process involves completing an extensive online application. Details about the process as well as a link to the online application can be found here.
What do I need to know before filling out an application?
For starters, we suggest checking out our "Before you adopt page". There is also a PDF checklist for your consideration.
Above and beyond that, please make sure if you are renting your agreement allows pets! Additionally, have all your contact details handy including; place of employment, vet clinic, and landlord (if applicable), and already have thought through our top considerations (on our Before you adopt page) before completing the application.
How much does it cost?
Adoption fees are determined on an individual basis for each animal. Quite a bargain, considering your pet will have had all necessary vaccinations and been spayed or neutered prior to adoption!
Please check out our pictures, descriptions, and adoption fees of our currently available pets; click here for cats, click here for dogs.
How do I know if I'm ready to take home a new animal?
Great question! The fact that you are even thinking about it shows you are headed in the right direction. Sharing your life with a companion animal can bring incredible rewards, but only if you're willing to make the necessary commitments of time, money, responsibility, and love-for the life of the pet. Since you asked, we have created this page just for you!

What kind of guarantee do I get with my new pet?
For starters, the guarantee that you are making a responsible choice by deciding to adopt rather than buy! Rest assured we have done everything we can to make sure your new pet is healthy and happy. We never knowingly send an animal to their new home that we think is sick or injured! However, occasionally things happen beyond our control and an animal that appears in good health suddenly appears ill. Unfortunately, that is a part of responsible pet ownership! Please contact us should anything unusual happen, but ultimately it is your responsibility, and at that point and we may suggest proper vet care.
We guarantee that all dogs have started their vaccines, are tested for heartworm disease (dogs 6 months and older), wormed, treated for fleas, and are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. The adoption fee also includes a dog license.
We guarantee that all cats have started their vaccines, are tested for feline leukemia, wormed, treated for fleas, and are spayed or neutered prior to adoption.
We offer a %50 refund on any animal adopted from us, within two weeks of the purchase date.
What if it doesn't work out once I get my new pet home?
It's important you recognize that we make our shelter as comfy as possible, but it is just that, a temporary shelter, and for most of our animals it can be stressful. They have often been in several different places, around people they do not know, or simply wandering the streets alone before being placed with us. Once again as they arrive at their new home thier are in a new place confined with complete strangers, so don't be surprised if your new pet is a little scared at first, you would be too!
Our first piece of advice is: take it slowly. Our second piece of advice is: give it time. Our third piece of advice is: be prepared to clean up messes at first, adapt your routine, and be patient as you and your new pet guide each other into an understanding of the rules of the house. particularly if there are already established pets in the house.
Lastly, if after a week there is no progress, consider returning him to us for a %50 refund. Please, if at any time in the future you must part ways, please return the animal to us, so we can give him or her a long full life and find the pet a new home!
I've never owned an animal before, will that be a problem?
Probably not. The real question is, are you prepared to be a responsible pet owner now? We certainly rely on vet references and a positive history of past pet ownership, but if that is not in place, then we need to be sure you have thought it through and are ready for the commitment. A good place to start is our "Before you adopt" page.
