Are you

adoptable animals?
The adoption process consists of three
steps:
1. Select the pet you are interested in by
indicating the animals name or ID number
2. Fill out an adoption application
3. There is at least a 24 hour waiting
period for adoption approval.
Please
note you must be 21 years old or older to
adopt from our agency
Fees: (Cats Only)
Adoption fees are determined on an
individual basis for each animal. Contact us
with any questions you may have regarding
the adoption fee.
All cats start
their vaccines, are tested for feline
leukemia, wormed, treated for fleas, and are
spayed or neutered prior to adoption.
All animals
featured on this page are available for
adoption. Please note that while this page
is updated frequently it is possible that
some pets may have already been adopted as
of today's date. If you are interested in
adopting a pet please complete the
adoption application
form then call the FAHS at (740) 687-0627 to
confirm availability of the animal. Please
note we cannot hold or adopt pets over the
phone. All adoptions must be done in person
at the FAHS shelter office.

was a great mom but her children are
all grown and have found homes and

is rotten to the core! Very
inquisitive and curious like any

October 2007. Twiggy is VERY loving
and affectionate: she does not know
the meaning of the word shy! This
little gal would let you scratch her

tiny babies. Wendy just gave birth
on 4/1/08. Right now she is busy
being a mom but once her work is
done it would be great if she had a
place to go home to. If you think
you can provide Wendy with the
loving forever home she deserves

Candice is a female calico that is
very loving and affectionate. In
fact she is SO affectionate I had to
take her picture through the cage
bars because she wouldn’t sit still
long enough to have her picture
taken. Once you think you are done
petting her she is right there
demanding more! Candice will make
someone a terrific “kitty
companion”!

Jade

Usher is a pretty little female
kitten that was born around 7/1/07.
Usher had a rough start to life: she
came to us as a tiny kitten with
minor internal injuries. She may
have been hit by a car but we are
not certain. Soon after her arrival
at the shelter Usher became very ill
with an upper respiratory infection.
She was so ill that she developed
ulcerations in her left eye and as a
result will have permanent scarring
in that eye. Despite her history
Usher is a very happy-go-lucky
little girl who loves to play! She
is good with other cats as well as
dogs.

kitty who was born around 5/1/07.
Howard was found hanging upside
down, caught by his back leg on a
fence. He sustained several injuries
but his wounds are now healed and he
is ready for his forever family!

Donald and his brother Cecil were
born on 5/31/07 after their mother
was dumped at a veterinary clinic
here in Lancaster. The clinic
brought the mother and her babies to
us when they were only two days old.
All of their brothers and sisters
have found homes and these boys
cannot understand why no one has
picked them! Donald is the more
reserved one of the two but is still
very friendly, playful, and curious.

is great with other cats! When Juan
first arrived he was completely
terrified of people; he as come a
long way during his stay at the

hair kitty who was born around
8/1/06. Chase LOVES other cats! She
loves to cuddle and snuggle with
other kitties! She is very reserved
with people she does not know and
will take some time to warm up to a
new family.

Milkshake is a young female all
black kitty who is very sweet. We
estimate that she was born around
11/1/06. Milkshake came to our
shelter with two kittens; she later
nursed several kittens that were not
even biologically hers. However she
cared for them as if they were her
own. Milkshake has been a great mom
but it is not time for her to go
home. Milkshake is friendly but shy
with newcomers.

Matt is an adorable male kitten with
lots of personality! He is one of
Pearl’s kittens who were dumped in a
cardboard box in front of the
shelter; the box was duct taped shut
with no air holes. Luckily the
health of Pearl and her kittens were
not compromised by this. Matt and
his brother Jeff are very energetic,
playful, and mischievous! They are
constantly getting into SOMETHING!
They are sure to drive you crazy but
just as sure to keep you laughing;
they are a very entertaining pair!

and white tiger kitty who was found
running stray. He is extremely
lovable and loves to bury himself in
your hair. When he comes out of his
cage, he immediately wraps himself
around your neck and holds on! He is
so playful and can't wait to get out
of here and liven up someone's
