Dear Animal Lover,
    You are receiving this letter as a valued member of our community. Every year the Fairfield Area Humane Society depends on its Membership to help offset the ever rising costs we incur while caring for hundreds of homeless animals. As a non-profit organization, which does not receive your tax dollars, the Humane Society can only continue its mission with donations and memberships from caring people like you. Membership support has always been the key to continuing our mission over the last 30 years and now it is more important than ever. As you well know, the struggling economy has put a strain on many people and the Humane Society is no exception. In 2010 our shelter had a 40% increase in animal intake and so far this year we have taken in over 300 animals. The Humane Society has experienced a growing need for our services throughout Fairfield County for many years. Our commitment to those needs has led us to consider plans for expansion of our facilities. You can help towards the building of a new Quarantine building, a dog park for all to enjoy, and even a proposed new shelter. Before those expansion plans can become reality we must increase our yearly support to allow for a positive cash flow. Our organization is currently operating with a $23,000 deficit for 2011 and we are hoping to increase our membership to bring us back to even for the year, and start 2012 on a positive note. With a $200,000 yearly budget, our goal is $100,000 in Membership fees. Please help us reach that goal this year by becoming a 2012 Member of the Fairfield Area Humane Society and asking others to join you in supporting our cause.

Your Membership Donation supports:

• A safe and secure shelter for all of our animals.
• A Humane Officer who rescues injured or abused animals.
• A spay/neuter practice for all canines and felines under our care.
• A dog and cat adoption service to place them in their forever homes.
• A rescue network to place dogs which have special physical or behavioral needs.
• A means to meet ever-increasing costs of food, water, medical care and utilities.
• A way to help educate our community through presentations on animal care.

    All donations are tax deductible as the Fairfield Area Humane Society is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and does not receive monetary support from national organizations such as the Humane Society of the United States or the ASPCA. Your membership will go a long way in helping us care for our ever increasing number of animals until we find them their forever homes.
